As soon as you walk in to Shelter Chic you will feel happy because of the funky atmosphere. Leopard print litter boxes, quirky t-shirts for the employees and the best part is that the animals will all be dressed to impress. Tutus, bow ties - the whole nine, because well animals can have style too! How can you not smile when you see a dog in a tutu? Exactly! This shelter will leave you with a sense of happiness and joy not sadness.

Our Mission

Shelter Chic’s primary mission is to find more homeless dogs and cats forever homes. Our positive, stylish, and fun atmosphere welcomes people who, for various reasons, prefer to buy their pets from stores or breeders. We aim to take away the stigma associated with animal shelters and its animals and attract a diverse crowd looking to welcome a four (or three!) legged addition to their family. Rather than wearing generic “Adopt Me” vests (not every dog looks good in orange), our animals will strut the streets of New York in adorable outfits and accessories. Staff and volunteers will model Shelter Chic apparel with edgy slogans and innovative designs, all in the name of promoting animal adoption. With our fierce marketing, Shelter Chic is pushing boundaries and drawing attention to a cause that is still unknown to many. We believe that every cat and dog has their own unique personality and no matter where they come from, they all deserve to look good, feel good, and live the life in loving homes. Shelter Chic strives to educate the public about the importance of adoption and other issues relating to animal welfare in a friendly and fun way. We welcome all, promote love, and encourage spoiling our furry friends because in the end, they're the ones who rescue us.

***We were fortunate to have had a space donated to us from October 2015- October 2016 to operate a nonprofit retail boutique while running our dog and cat rescue. At the moment, all our animals are living in loving foster homes while we look for a new space. Our goal is to secure a permanent location for our boutique/shelter where we can house our animals, enabling us to save more lives.
